    TDN Pimm’s

Who knew there were so many tasty libations with Pimm’s that didn’t have the word “cup” in the name? The whole assault of cocktails is on twitter, but take a gander at some of the highlights:

    The Cocktails

    Winter Temptation

    • 1 1/2oz bourbon
    • 1/2oz Pimm’s
    • 1 1/2oz lemon
    • 1oz simple syrup
    • 12 slices Apple
    • 1 dash Fee’s whiskey barrel-aged bitters
    • 4oz ginger beer, to top

Muddle the apple slices with the lemon and simple syrup. Filled with cracked ice, the spirits and bitters and shake like snow falling off a Christmas tree. Strain into a rocks glass and top with the ginger beer.

Chris from An Exercise in Hospitality

    • 1t sugar
    • mint, for muddling and garnish
    • 1/4oz pimento dram
    • 5 dashes cherry bitters
    • ginger beer, to top

Muddle mint with lime, sugar, Pimm’s, cherry bitters, and pimento dram. Add the rum with glee, fill with crushed ice, and shake. Donate to a mug of perfection and drop in some fizzy ginger beer.

Quotes (from the past few weeks)

[oysterschnapps] I keep the jwray in the basement with the other solvents.

[cocktailnerd] I think it’s like kissing Sazerac’s cute niece. [describing the Cocktail a la Louisiane]

[Dr. Bamboo] I love that I’m in a chat room where both andouille and a Snow Crash reference got made within minutes of each other.

    KP Question

    • Has anyone else used Zirbenz? In what?

    About

Kaiser Penguin is a cocktail blog featuring original recipes, homemade ingredients, classic cocktails, and tiki drinks.

Why on Earth did you name your blog “Kaiser Penguin?”

It is a well-known fact that penguins are members of high society and enjoy fine cocktails. Our very own kaiser penguin would like me to mention that he also enjoys various treats from the sea.
