If you’re flying the high skies (like a penguin with a jet pack) look in the back seat pocket – you know, the one where you stash all your food wrappers that you’re too lazy to dig out when they come around to collect the trash. Grab the May issue of the US Airways Magazine and flip to the contributors section if you want to see a scary picture of me.

One of my recent articles, The Fallback – What do you order when the bar sucks? found its way into their pages. The quote was selected from one of four I sent them. Personally, I liked some of the others better…

  • It’s ok to garnish cocktails with poisonous flowers, really.
  • Manhattan hard? Try making a 15-ingredient Zombie.
  • Some writers like cocktail history, I like to invent it.

You might find this hard to believe, but it is now actually a Federal Offense to place anything in the seatback pocket in front of you other than the safety brochure or airline magazines that offered there.

About

Kaiser Penguin is a cocktail blog featuring original recipes, homemade ingredients, classic cocktails, and tiki drinks.

Why on Earth did you name your blog “Kaiser Penguin?”

It is a well-known fact that penguins are members of high society and enjoy fine cocktails. Our very own kaiser penguin would like me to mention that he also enjoys various treats from the sea.
